numbers, Kathy is very artistic and a wonderful cook and gardener, Debbie has grown a magical yard and hosts a mean party, Sue is quite the athlete, and Cindy has a special way with people and puts together wonderfully themed special occasions.Uncle Ronnie's family is also very talented -- and they seem to share the wonderful talent of building a home. Uncle Ronnie built this plastic log cabin way back in the day. Dale mentioned he learned alot of his skills watching Dad.
And Dad and Uncle Ronnie shared a talent -- they both had a tendancy to cut off heads when they took photo's! Oh and they both could build just about anything.
Rona certainly has absorbed these talents. She is truly amazing! She bought a property about 5 miles south of Glenwood where she lives -- very remote and rustic. There she worked, typically alone with little or no help, on a cabin. She built the entire cabin by hand -- WITH NO ELECTRIC! Wow -- no electric saw, drill, planer, etc. PLUS you have to hoof all of this stuff to the location.
She's built many other buildings including one in Ohio and worked on many buildings with Dale in Alaska. She is tireless -- work during the day, go build at night.
As you can see she is also a bit fearless! She also told some stories about staying at the cabin and having bears come and visit -- even tearing up a campground of some "neighbors". But can you imagine sitting on your porch and checking out this scenery at night!

You certainly do put out a "mean blog" :-) Sue also has the "carpentry" bug. She totally finished her basement and made a great deck off the back of her house. Looks like a different house. There are many talents I wish I had (like being able to ride a bike) ~ but God has a plan for each of us right where we are :-)
ReplyDeleteI think it's easy to look at all of the talents other people have and wish we had, but you are right we are each so blessed -- we just need to take a step back and thank God for all of the talents he has given us so we can honor him!
