The same but different

Mmmm - tonight's snack!

13.5 miles. Hm. And I spent a good part of the day reading in the Jardin de Luxembourg (thought of you Deb!) and finished the day doing the same in Jardin de Tuileries - didn't realize I walked so much again. Explains why I'm tired!

We're so much the same all of us, across the world. Except for how we're different. For instance, cell phone usage and the corresponding attention deficit and mobility concerns are worldwide - and even apparently across the centuries.

That is a cell phone isn't it?

And we're so self centered we forget we're in a crowd. Now even non-crowd loving me understands but it's funny to watch people walk right in front of someone taking a picture, walk 3-4 abreast in a city with very narrow sidewalks, talk on their phones loudly in centuries old churches, run into people (and a few things!) while buried in their phone, etc.  See - the same as at home!

You hear so many accents. I think we all love a beautiful Australian, or British accent (I'm sure you can think of a few peoples whose accents make you go a bit weak in the knees?!) And hearing English spoken by the French has a beautiful lilting tone. Hm. I wonder if an American French accent has the same effect?

The old churches are stunning. And OLD!  And after a few - well you adopt the seen one seen them all!  I saw just a healthy amount today!

Also found an exhibit on Tour de France in the left bank!  Yea!  They've started setting up the VIP grandstands and I've seen a couple souvenir kiosks set up already. I'm going to view from a new spot - we'll see how that works!

Old churches - ✔️. Angelina chocolat chaud - ✔️. Orangina - ✔️.  Relaxing in my two favorite gardens - ✔️. There. Perfect!

Tomorrow I'm chocolate shopping. And walking. And probably an eclair or crepe. And of course an Orangina!!
