So how do you move 17 bicycles, a ton of luggage, and one mettler toledo scale across country? We won't be getting any green awards with our dualie truck and trailer. The trailer usually houses Mike's corvette that he races -- now it looks more like a professional teams traveling trailer.
Retrofit with a luggage area, front fork holders, and a rear wheel stabalizer it actually works really well.
If you look closely at the last photograph in the right corner you can just see my bicycle poking out (blue with the C for Cannondale on the headtube). The worst part was digging out bags for stuff folks forgot. And of course the boxes for the scale were on the bottom of all of those bags -- go figure! We transported those out to Silverthorn where we are staying for a former Columbus resident who belongs to Westerville Bicycle Club (one of the clubs I belong to) to his condo here. We're actually staying next door. Tough life -- there is a bubbling stream in their back yard with wildlife and a view straight up a mountain -- tough tough tough!
A couple of the bikes are feeling a bit cramped so we're taking them out for a ride today to stretch their legs. By the way you do notice the altitude quite quickly here (we're at maybe 9,000 feet). You have to go up 2 flights of stairs from the luggage to the bedrooms -- 4 relatively fit people huffing and puffing like you wouldn't believe! Stretched in bed and sucked in that first deep breath this morning - nope that's not happening! So the ride today will be good to help with the overall aclimization to altitude -- it really is quite funning to not be able to take a deep breath!
Forecast for the week shows alot of rain so heres to hoping it is late afternoon rain.
Stopped at a John Deere dealer at lunch yesterday. Jim is a retired farmer so we tend to point out every John Deere we see so this was too much to pass up. Learn alot about farming, how combines work and etc. on the trip. Here's Jim and our driver Mike curled up in a tire!

Just reading about you not being able to take deep breaths is causing me to hyperventilate:-)Hope those "bikes" get all stretched out for Sunday :-) Be safe!
