So I think it's a Chorman thing!
Crack open a can of beer, turn it upside down, stick -- well -- the backside of a chicken on it, put on grill and let the beer steam and cook the chicken.
It's really good -- tender meat and quite flavorful! And any meal that entertaining is certainly worth it! But the best part of the meal was the fruit pie Rona handmade -- in a jiffy too! A great meal and she was nice enough to invite Jim over as well!
Had a great time with Rona -- she drove to Silverthorn Friday to pick me up (the trip through Glenwood Canyon was really cool -- I-70 cuts right through the canyon with great views) so we got to spend Friday and Saturday together. She came downtown to have lunch (and sit through the closing ceremonies!) with me on the Friday we returned so she got to meet most of the group of us from Columbus.
What a GREAT time seeing her again. We figured the last time we saw each other was 1987! WOW! Lots of catching up - lots of stories, memories of all of the family reunions -- what we're all doing now (I brought my laptop with lots of family photos). She's doing well -- what a talent. She's built a tree house in Crested Butte, her house in Glenwood she completely redone -- she just can do so many cool things! It was fun hearing about her time in Alaska too. I got to talk to Dale and see pictures of the house he built in Alaska -- stunning! So the next trip needs to be to Alaska! (Anyone in?)

Recovering from Cancer twice -- she's really strong and has such a great outlook on life and a great group of friends around her. She's they type to help anyone of her friends -- paint, garden -- anything they need -- and I think they returned that graciousness when she was sick.
She and Dale are still quite close and have travelled to amazing places together. Rona also hikes and rides bikes and -- well quite honestly is always on the go!
Saturday we went to the most AMAZING place -- it's called Hanging Lake with a side hike up to Sprouting Rock. We went early to beat the rush and it was so worth it. And to think they actually wanted to destroy this place by running I-70 through it. It's this beautiful bowl like basin that hangs over the canyon. The water (Dead Horse Creek -- named after the way the lake was found -- a guy searching for gold found a dead horse at a gulch, followed the gulch up and found the lake. It's beyond me how folks hiked and found this stuff before there was a trail -- that was hard enough!) meanders beside the trail with beautiful rocks, waterfalls, and wildflowers. I'm not sure my pictures will do the area justice (which never stops me from trying!).

I'm so glad I was able to see her this year -- it made the trip so much better. It's great to see family you haven't seen in awhile and remember "the good old days".

What a wonderful memory you've again created. The pictures are amazing - the re-connect with Rona=wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
