You know you'd be great at it and it's frustrating to get passed over. You don't understand why, don't understand the insane world of office politics, don't understand why you do everything right and it still doesn't work out.
You have two choices now, give up, or keep going. The secret you see, is that We're not on your timetable, not on pace with your agenda, your needs and wants.
You may not know this but you probably weren't as ready as you thought. Maybe you weren't hungry enough, more likely you weren't humble enough. Maybe you needed to be reminded that it isn't about you, it's about what He has in store for you. If He knocks and you don't hear it -- you won't open the door. And when you try the door when you want to open it -- well it's locked now. But He'll knock again, and again, and again -- I know. I've heard the knocking. I've ignored the knocking.
I know it's what you wanted, I know how desperately you wanted it, how right you thought it was, how unfair, unjust when you didn't get it. But only here was it unfair, unjust. And here, of course, is of no importance in the end.
But They saw, where it is fair and just. And on Their timetable, Their agenda, They unlocked the door. And when They knocked, you heard. And through that door -- was JACK (soon to be named something else).

The Belgian Malinois formerly known as Jack is Jamie's new partner. What a beautiful dog, and how lucky to be teamed up with someone as hardworking, loyal, dependable and loving as Jamie.Le Chien de Berger Belge is a Belgian sheepdog, bred to do all of the tasks of a herding dog in the cold northern European climate. The name was derived from Malines, a city in Belgium that I'm assuming the veterinarian that brought over 100 of these dogs to America was from. Slightly smaller than a German Shepard they are known for their intelligence, working ability, and temperament. They need to be active and challenged, and are used exclusively by the United States Secret Service and extensively by others such as the Israeli Defense Forces -- pretty good recommendations there.
Jamie will have alot of work ahead of him, working with the dog, establishing the "chain of command" training him, and learning the ins and outs of the K9 force he is now assigned to.
But it's time, he's ready, and when the door is open you best walk through it.
Good luck Jamie -- I'm so proud of you!

He's been waiting for this forever. I'm supposed to help him with the "socializing" with his other 2 shepherds. I guess we go for a run with all of them, then take them back to the house after they have spent their energy.
ReplyDeleteI'm proud, happy, and thankful. Good luck, Jamie - and ALWAYS remember God is holding you in the palm of His hand. Thank you VC for once again saying it from your heart for all of us.
