I'll admit to being more anxious this year - probably lack of training, or really knowing how hard this is going to be. Jim must not be too worried - good thing Heidi drove. I think he fell asleep before we left Columbus proper.
I wanted to show you my pre-game meal - but I was so hungry you only get to see the leftovers.
Leaving for so long and packing on the bike is always a big todo. Fortunately I've done this enough I have a bag just for bike stuff and I make up a bag just for food. Now -- trying to get everything to fit - that's the problem! But I probably have enough stuff to handle most occurrences. Well. Until that one I forgot stuff for!
I had a conscience attack and got another person to help with the Little One. She's not quite independent and it is awfully hot. But of course there is a basement. And she is just a cat. But she's alone. I'm sure I'll worry about her for a day - and then exhaustion kicks in and I won't worry any more!
So there you got - the start of my ultra-marathon event. Some day I need to figure out why I do these stupid things!
