Florida Wildlife

I do love wildlife and Florida is full of various different animals, some familiar, some not. Alas no Florida Panthers or Cougars were spotted in the wild but here is an assortment of those I did find in the wild. And not to mention the many chiens (and a couple of chats) that were spotted.

Periwinkle snail -- look closely at the leaf in the middle.
A great egret, hunting
Look closely at the top of the picture, a yellow rat snake is wrapped up in the branch

Brown Anole Lizard -- look closely at the edge of the shadow -- it is there!
Flocking Birds (dunlins?) looking for fish
White Ibis
Dunlin
SeaGull
Strange Northern American SnowBirds. Check out the dune buggy wheels on wheelchair

Nesting Osprey
Gopher Tortoise. Their holes are 35' deep with many adjoining interstates. The top is large enough for them to turn the width of their shell -- so they can get back in easily. In storms they allow all of the other various animals to come in, a harbor from the storm. They don't tend to stay long though, less they get eaten.

The ever present beached whale
