To see a Miracle

A few years ago there was a TV show titled "Joan of Arcadia". The basic premise being a young teenage girl from Arcadia, named Joan, could see God. God came in varying forms from a fellow student, to a high school janitor, and etc.

In one of the early shows God presented himself to Joan as a fellow student. Doubting that he was truly God Joan of course tested him. She asked him to "show me a miracle".

To which God simply pointed to a tree. Not impressed -- Joan didn't think that was much of a miracle.

God's reply -- "Let me see you do that".

I've always loved that! We've all seen miracles, most we just don't appreciate or flat out miss. So this one I don't want you to miss -- so I provided a picture.

Meet Will Precht. In case you can't tell he's doing "O" of O-H-I-O fame. He's missing a bit on the hand signal but you get the idea!

But I promised to show you a miracle. As if a child, born of two parents, isn't miracle enough. You need to know a bit more about Will. Will was born with a twin. Unfortunately neither twin was quite ready yet, but their mother's body thought differently. Both born critically ill, Will's brother never left NICU.

It was months before Will was able to go home. First time parents, facing the loss of a child, the unsure future of another. Then months later finally their child comes home, hooked to oxygen, monitors and etc. What a frightening start to parenthood.

Will will probably always lag behind those his age developmentally and therapists still visit him at home regularly. But he is an incredible child -- bright, curious, friendly -- and thriving.

He is a miracle.

Look around you. There are miracles everywhere.

"Father, thank You that in every trial, challenge, and difficulty, You are behind the scenes working things (miracles) out for our good. Help us to see Your hand in everything. Amen"
